Dissidence in NCP: Supporters of Thomas K Thomas hold meetings in every district

Kochi: MLA Thomas K Thomas supporters are on a move to float another party if the NCP leadership fails to offer ministerial post to him. The plan is to form a new party and stick on with the LDF if both the State and central leadership are not taking any favourable stance.
The supporters of Thomas K Thomas are holding meetings in every district. They are also gathering the leaders and workers who have been keeping a distance with the party under the name of ‘Save NCP’ forum. There are several leaders who are unhappy with the leadership of P C Chacko as the NCP State president.
A faction of State NCP is functioning under the leadership of N A Muhammed Kutty as Ajit Pawar’s NCP. However, they are in trouble as the Ajit Pawar faction is an ally of the NDA. The Kerala faction wishes to stick on with the LDF. The Thomas supporters are planning to include them also in their new party. Discussions are being held in this regard.
Meanwhile, Chacko and Saseendran factions are of the opinion that there is no consensus over Thomas K Thomas within the party that is why he is not moving the central leadership for a ministerial berth. The NCP official leadership will take up the matter with the central leadership and take stern actions like ousting from the party if the Thomas faction goes ahead with the move.
