Sobha was not part of Jayarajan-Javadekar meeting, says Nandakumar

Thiruvananthapuram: Self-styled political power broker T G Nandakumar has alleged that BJP leader Sobha Surendran was not part of the talks held between LDF convener E P Jayarajan and Prakash Javadekar.

Speaking to Mathrubhumi, Nandakumar claimed that Sobha didn't meet him or Jayarajan. Earlier, Sobha alleged that she held a meeting with Jayarajan on three different occasions as part of the CPM leader's plans to join the saffron party.

"Jayarajan has not met Sobha in Delhi and at my house in Vennala. She wasn't present when Jayarajan welcomed Javadekar at his son's residence in Akkulam. However, politics was not the subject of discussion during the meeting," he added.

"Jayarajan arrived at the Government Guest House in Ramanilayam after the election rally in Thrissur. K. Radhakrishnan and M V Govindam were present at the guest house. On that day, Jayarajan met Prakash Javadekar. Sobha Surendran came to the guest house after learning about Javadekar's visit. She had no involvement in the meeting, except for attempting and failing to interrupt it," he said.

Earlier today, E P Jayarajan said he had never spoken with Sobha Surendran. He also reiterated that he first met her in person on the occasion of the passing of former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. He also questioned why someone like him should go and talk to Sobha Surendran.

In an interview granted to Mathrubhumi, Sobha Surendran claimed that she had met Jayarajan at the house of Nandakumar in Vennala, in New Delhi, and at the government guest house in Thrissur. She went on to allege that Jayarajan backtracked on his plans to join the BJP at the last minute.
