Munnar accident: Jeep carrying 8, including a child, falls 50 ft; one dead

Idukki (Kerala): A tragic accident in Pothamedu, Munnar, claimed the life of a tourist after a trekking jeep plunged 50 feet down. The deceased has been identified as Prakash (58), a native of Tamil Nadu.

The jeep was carrying eight people, including a child, all of whom had travelled from Chennai for a holiday in Munnar. The accident reportedly occurred when the vehicle lost its brakes while negotiating a turn.

The injured passengers have been admitted to a private hospital in Munnar for treatment.
