Man on bail hacks woman, son to death in Palakkad; jailed earlier for killing member of same family

Palakkad, Kerala: A horrific incident unfolded in Nenmara, Palakkad, on Monday morning where a man, recently released from prison on bail, brutally murdered a woman and her son. The victims are identified as Lakshmi and her son, Sudhakaran, resident of Pothundi.

The accused is Chenthamara, their neighbour. Chenthamara had been serving prison term for the murder of Sudhakaran's wife, Sajitha. The double murder was reportedly committed when the accused got out of prison on bail.

Lakshmi was rushed to a nearby hospital in Nenmara but succumbed to injuries. Sudhakaran was shifted to the Palakkad District Hospital, where his death was also confirmed.

Chenthamara is currently absconding. Police are actively engaged in a manhunt to apprehend the accused.
