Kerala panchayat staff and her daughter die by suicide after jumping in front of train

Alappuzha: A mother and daughter allegedly died by suicide after jumping in front of a train near Thakazhy in Alappuzha. The deceased have been identified as Priya (46), a panchayat staff in Thakazhy, and her daughter Krishnapriya (15), a Class 10 student.

The incident occurred around 2 pm on Thursday near the Thakazhy Hospital level crossing. The duo had reportedly arrived on a scooter before walking towards the tracks. They then jumped in front of the Alappuzha-Kollam Passenger train.
