Monson Mavunkal case: Youth Congress leader released on bail; person aided K Sudhakaran, claims CB

Kochi: The fifth accused in the Monson Mavunkal case, Ebin Abraham was arrested. Ebin, the Youth Congress leader, was arrested by the crime branch team led by DySP YR Rustom after over five-hour long questioning. However, he was released on bail. 

Crime Branch (CB) claimed that they have unearthed crucial evidence supporting Ebin’s involvement in the case. They said that Ebin was responsible for bringing KPCC president K Sudhakaran in touch with Monson. Ebin also issued threats to the complainants on Sudhakaran’s behalf, CB added.

The interrogation was carried out after reviewing information including Ebin’s bank account details. According to CB, Monson's employees sent money to Ebin. 

Meanwhile, during the quizzing, CB summoned Anoop, one of the complainants in the case.  He reportedly identified Ebin. The purported visuals of Ebin trying to intimidate the complainants into withdrawing Sudhakaran’s name from the case had come to light. In order to verify this only, Ebin was quizzed in Anoop's presence.
