Thiruvananthapuram: The July salary for KSRTC employees will be given in instalments. The government has approved Rs 30 crore as financial assistance for the first instalment. The amount is expected to be received by KSRTC by Monday. Rs 37.5 crore is needed for giving half the salary.

Authorities hope to provide the August salary in one go. The consortium will be taking an additional Rs 450 crore from banks as loan. The amount from this will be used to pay the salary in one lumpsum - Minister KN Balagopal announced.

Meanwhile, there is a pension backlog. The pension for July has not been disbursed. A total of Rs 80 crore is needed for this. In previous months, the government had allocated Rs 70 crore. Recently, after providing Rs 650 crore to settle KTDFC's liabilities, the share for pensions has not been provided.
