Mofiya was treated like slave; Suhail was a sexual pervert, reveals remand report

Aluva: The remand report in connection with the suicide of law student Mofiya Praveen (21) has surfaced. The findings in the report prove that the allegations raised by Mofiya’s parents against her in-laws were right.

It is stated in the remand report that Mofiya underwent severe torture at her husband’s house. Her husband Suhail and his parents used to treat Mofiya like a slave. Her mother-in-law tortured her. Their family always tried to portray Mofiya as a mental patient, the report states.

Suhail and family had demanded Rs 40 lakh as dowry. When Mofiya’s family did not give the amount, they continued torturing her. Suhail is a sexual pervert and had physically abused Mofiya several times, the report stated.

The classmates of Mofiya had revealed that she was subjected to severe abuse which she could not open up to them. According to their revelations, Suhail had forced Mofiya to get a tattoo on her private parts. Mofiya’s parents also had alleged that she faced intense torture from him.
