Model Sahana’s death: Diary reveals she faced torture from her husband

Kozhikode: In a major turning point in the probe into the death of model Sahana in Kozhikode, the probe team recovered the diary of the deceased. Her diary notes revealed that her husband used to brutally torture her.

The model was found hanged at a flat in Cheruvathur here on April 13. Following her death, police arrested her husband Kasaragod native Sajjad.

Sahana’s diary notes confirmed that she was not happy with her husband.

Her diary notes which she wrote soon after 20 days from her wedding came to light now,

In her diary, Sahana wrote down about the domestic violence that she faced from Sajjad who is fondly called Senju. The notes revealed that Sajjad’s family members also tortured her.

Sajjad and his family had left Sahana to starve in their house. 

Usually, the family deny food to her. Sometimes, she only eats two slices of bread.

"Senju’s mother wants a servant. She doesn’t want a daughter-in-law. She finds happiness by criticising me. Senju told me that we will shift to a new house soon, writes Sahana.

“There is nobody for me. He has beaten up me for no reason. I came to this house only trusting him. But even he is not understanding me. I don’t have any value in this house. Senju is not supporting me. He is a different person now,” reads Sahana’s diary notes.

Sahana’s diary also described the financial issues of Senju. Sahana was in deep depression due to their unhappy life.

Her brother recovered the diary from her residence at Cheruvathur. He handed over it to the probe officials.
