Peruvanam International Village Festival to be held in Peruvanam on January 3, 4 and 5

The logo of the 3rd edition of Peruvanam International Village Festival to be held at Peruvanam on January 3, 4 and 5, 2025, is released by State Tourism and Public Works Minister P. A. Muhammed Riyas at the Kerala Festival in Dubai, presenting it to renowned instrumentalist and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Chairman Mattannur Sankarankutty. Dr. Ajaya Kumar, Chairman of Sarvamangala Trust, the organisers of the village festival, is present.

Thrissur: The logo of the 3rd edition of Peruvanam International Village Festival (PIVF) to be held in Peruvanam on January 3, 4 and 5, 2025,  was released by State Tourism and Public Works Minister P. A. Muhammed Riyas and renowned instrumentalist and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Chairman Mattannur Sankarankutty at the Kerala Festival held in Dubai. Speaking at the event, Dr. Ajaya Kumar, Chairman of Sarvamangala Trust, the organisers of PIVF, said that the theme of this year's Peruvanam Gramotsavam is "Kalarppukal (Creolisation). " As in previous years, nationally and internationally renowned writers, artists, academics, etc. will participate in the festival, he said.

Ahead of PIVF, a Gurusmriti will be held on December 7 at 6 pm at the Sopanam Auditorium in Cherp West, where poet, writer and cultural activist Dr. P. Narayanan will be remembered. As a curtain raiser to PIVF, a one-day seminar, which will start at 9:30 am on December 8, will be attended by Dr. P. Pavithran, Dr. K. M. Bharathan, Dr. C. K. Jayanthi, Dr. Rachitha Ravi, Dr. Saji Mathew, Dr. P. P. Abdul Razak, Dr. Shibi K, P. M. Narayanan, and seven research students from various universities will also be held.

 Dr Shibi K's book Keralolpathi Bhashyangal: Medieval Kerala Historical Writings Criticised will be released at the seminar. At 5:15 pm, a women's rhythmic  programme led by India's first female ghatam player Vidushi Sukanya Ramgopal will also be held.
