Milma sets all-time record; sells 38 lakh liters of milk on Uthradam day alone

Thiruvananthapuram: During the Onam season, Milma recorded an all-time high sales of milk, curd, and other dairy products. On the day of Uthradam, 38,03,388 liters of milk and 3,97,672 kilograms of curd were sold through Milma outlets. Last year, total milk sales were 37,00,209 liters and curd sales were 3,91,923 kilograms.
In the six days leading up to Thiruvonam, 1,19,58,751 liters of milk and 14,58,278 kilograms of curd were sold through the government-owned cooperative society. Last year, the figures were 1,16,77,314 liters of milk and 13,76,860 kilograms of curd. Milma stated that this represents an average growth of 5 percent this time.
From August 1 to 31, ghee sales reached 863.92 tons, compared to 663.74 tons last year. In just the last four days, 127.16 tons of ghee were sold, pushing the total sales to 991.08 tons.
During Onam, 50 ml of ghee was distributed in 600,000 kits by Supplyco, and Milma’s ready-to-drink and other payasam kits recorded strong sales, said Chairman KS Mani.
