Man hacks wife to death in Kanyakumari

Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking incident, a woman was hacked to death by her husband on Saturday. The murder took place at Thuckalay in Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari. 

The victim is Prinsa (31), a native of Thakkalai. The accused Ebenezer (35), who attempted to kill himself following the incident, has been admitted to a hospital. He has been taken into custody. 

Ebenezer is a tempo van driver and Prinsa had been studying beautician course at a private institution in Thiruvananthapuram. The couple has two children. 

Apparently, the couple used to quarrel over the change in Prinsa’s dressing style since joining the course. As the dispute intensified, their relatives had also intervened to resolve the issue. 

Following the discussion, the couple were en route to their house during which they argued again leading to the murder.

According to reports, the woman, who suffered severe injury to her head, died on the spot. 

Later, Ebenezer, who fled home, attempted to commit suicide by taking sleeping pills. 

The woman’s dead body has been shifted to Medical College Hospital by the Thuckalay police.
