Man accused of sexual harassment on bus found dead by suicide

Kozhikode: A man was found dead by suicide after a woman shared a video on social media accusing him of sexually harassing her on a bus.

The deceased has been identified as Deepak (40), a native of Govindapuram in Kozhikode. He was found dead at his residence early this morning.

The woman had alleged through social media that the man deliberately touched her body with sexual intent while travelling on a crowded bus. The video she posted went viral, receiving over 20 lakh views and being widely shared.

Following the circulation of the video, Deepak was reportedly in a bad mental state, according to relatives and friends. His family has alleged that he was subjected to character assassination through the video and claimed that the woman created the content for social media publicity.

The incident reportedly took place in Payyannur. Kozhikode Medical College police have registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
