Lokanath Behera refutes allegations of being behind Padmaja's BJP entry

Kochi: Former DGP Lokanath Behera has dismissed allegations that he persuaded Padmaja to join BJP. While talking to Mathrubhumi News, he termed the accusations raised by VD Satheesan and K Muraleedharan as politically motivated. He also refuted the claims that he had forcefully made a famous textile businessman in Kerala participate in the BJP’s women’s meet organised in Thrissur earlier this year, notably PM Modi had also attended the function.
Opposition leader VD Satheesan had accused Behera of persuading Padmaja to join BJP upon the instruction of Pinarayi Vijayan. K Muraleedharan who is Padmaja’s brother also pointed fingers at the former DGP for his sister’s shocking shift of loyalty.
Congress leader Tony Chammany also criticised Lokanath Behera for allegedly convincing Karunakaran’s daughter to join BJP.
“I have nothing to say on these baseless allegations. All these claims are nothing but politically motivated. The accusations are all blatant lies,” said Behera.
