Thiruvananthapuram: Lockdown may be extended in the state for another week with relaxations. The restrictions have to continue till the test positivity rate reaches below 10 percent and this was informed in a letter by the centre to the state.

More relaxations will be given as educational institutions have to commence online classes from June 1 onwards. A decision on extending lockdown will be taken in a meeting chaired by the chief minister on Saturday.

The government may allow shops selling school stationeries to open. And besides this, as valuation of most examinations will begin, transport service too may be permitted along with relaxations.
