Days of Pinarayi govt are numbered; election verdict is a heavy blow to CPM: K Sudhakaran

Kannur: Congress MP K Sudhakaran has said that the local body election results amount to a public assessment of the Pinarayi Vijayan government. He added that the verdict reflects a clear majority declaration that the government no longer has the moral right to continue in office.
Sudhakaran said Pinarayi Vijayan has been ruling Kerala for the past nine years but has failed to address the problems of ordinary people anywhere or on any issue. “Other than indulging in empty talk, he has not been able to deliver,” he said.
He further alleged that Vijayan’s political career, including his tenure as chief minister, has been centered on finding ways to amass money through black money and plunder.
Describing the election outcome as a severe setback for the CPM, Sudhakaran said the party had believed it could eliminate the Congress by aligning with the BJP, but the results proved otherwise. “There is no doubt that the days of the Pinarayi government are numbered,” he said.
He added that fulfilling political responsibilities and duties towards the people has been a consistent practice of the UDF over the years and that it continues to do so even now. “The people stood with the UDF,” Sudhakaran said, adding that Pinarayi Vijayan and the Left must introspect on the reasons behind this verdict.
