Virtual queue app yet to get final nod; liquor sale likely to be delayed

Thiruvananthapuram: The mobile app developed by Beverages Corporation for arranging virtual queue to buy liquor did not get final permission. The Beverages authorities are waiting for the approval to make the app available on Google Playstore.
The first developed app was submitted for security check of Google. They suggested some changes and the corrected app was resubmitted. The authorities said that the procedures to resume liquor sale will start as soon as the permission is received. Liquor sale is likely to be delayed depending on the procedures.
The deadline for bar and beer-wine parlour licensees to submit application to include them in the virtual queue of Beverages Corporation ended on Wednesday at 5 pm. They should also submit an affidavit on a stamp paper worth Rs 50. After uploading the documents in the website of Beverages Corporation, they have to submit the original documents to warehouse manager.
