Lightning strike amid heavy rains in Idukki; 2 injured

Idukki: Two people were hit by a lightning strike in Karunapuram, Idukki. The injured have been identified as Idukki native Sunil Kumar and son. The incident took place on Monday night.

As per reports, heavy rains had been lashing the high range regions of Idukki district since Monday night. The rains, which began around 10 pm, continued till 3 am, locals said. 

The injured were initially admitted to the taluk hospital in the area. Later, they were shifted to Theni Government Medical College considering the severity of their injuries.
