Tit-for-tat: IUML mouthpiece lambasts Pinarayi, says CPM to be found only in museum

Kozhikode: Lashing out at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the CPM, Chandrika, the mouthpiece of the Muslim League (IUML), states in its editorial that the Chief Minister and his PR team have not realised that the reason for the poll rout was the failure of the government.
The editorial with the title ‘Will appearance be better by breaking the mirror?’ also mocked that if the CPM loses again, people have to go to the museum to see the party. In one part of the editorial, the Chief Minister is described as Modi wearing ‘mundu’.
"On getting a hint that it would get a bigger setback in the upcoming local elections, the CPM has re-launched its crooked strategy of cutting and dividing the wards in favour of the party. The ‘Modi wearing mundu’ is doing the copy-paste of the real Modi's tactics. But even the leaders are secretly saying that if they lose yet again, they will have to look for the party in the museum," says the editorial.
“Pinarayi and the CPM who batted for the renaissance wall have still not realised that Vellappally Natesan, who walks with the CPM for revival and spits communalism whenever he opens his mouth, is acting like a bridge for the wholesale of the Ezhava votes from the CPM to the Sangh Parivar.
“No matter how many losses it suffered, it is not a failure to the chief…, his job is to blame the League… All that is going on is calling other parties ‘ugly’ without realizing that their own face is ugly. It should not be surprising if people do more than this to those who think that heroism is in breaking the mirror that shows a defect,” it says.
The editorial came as a retaliation to the Chief Minister criticising the League at a general meeting of the NGO union in Kozhikode on the previous day.
Stating that the League is losing its face, the Chief Minister had said the party’s face has become that of Jamaat-e-Islami and SDPI. The UDF cannot rejoice in the election victory, he had said, adding that the League had joined hands with those who are not worthy of it just for four votes.
