Satheesan says he is not above criticism, miffed at leakage of news to media

Thiruvananthapuram: As criticisms mount against his style of functioning, Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan has stated that he is open to criticism. Speaking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram regarding the allegations raised against his approach at a meeting of KPCC office bearers, Satheesan said that as Leader of Opposition, he is not above criticism.
While accepting the criticisms levelled against him, Satheesan expressed his dissatisfaction with the leaks to the media. “It is quite natural for criticisms to be raised in meetings. If there is criticism against the Leader of Opposition, there is nothing wrong with it. It has happened before, and I too have criticized former Leaders of Opposition in KPCC meetings. So, there is nothing wrong if somebody criticizes me,” said Satheesan.
“If there is something to be corrected, I will correct. If the criticisms are baseless, I will make sure those who raised are convinced. However, the leaders should consider whether those who leaked details of what happened or did not happen in the meeting to the media are truly part of the Congress family. I have not leaked any circular to the media. I am quite proud that I was criticized,” he said.
Satheesan also mentioned that he has no complaints about not being invited to the KPCC meeting.
