Palakkad: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has tied the CPM in Kerala to the Sangh Parivar stable, said Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan. Reacting to the Chief Minister’s statement at Chelakkara on Friday, in which he claimed that the Congress and Muslim League have compromised with communalism, Satheesan severely criticised Pinarayi for allegedly colluding with the BJP to delay investigations by central agencies concerning cases against the Chief Minister and his family members.

Satheesan alleged that upon returning to power for a second term, the Chief Minister met with RSS leaders at Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. “ADGP Ajith Kumar acted as a messenger for the Chief Minister when he met with the RSS leaders. A conspiracy was hatched using Ajith Kumar to ensure the victory of the BJP candidate in the Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency as well,” he claimed.

“Congress will not compromise with communalism, as we are fighting against the BJP both in the state and at the national level. The CPM has accepted support from the communal outfit Jamaat-e-Islami for around three decades. It was only in 2019 that the CPM decided to support Congress at the national level. During the five elections I contested, the support of Jamaat-e-Islami was in favour of the LDF,” Satheesan stated.

“Reports have emerged that an MLA from the LDF offered Rs. 50 crore each to two other LDF MLAs to join the NCP, which is allied with the BJP. It is said that Pinarayi was aware of this move. What action did he take regarding this?” Satheesan asked.

“Although the CPM repeatedly claims to support the family of ADM Naveen Babu, the coterie operating in the Chief Minister’s Office has been protecting Divya. If we investigate the source of the fake complaint against Naveen Babu, we would surely trace it back to AKG Centre or the Chief Minister's Office,” he added.

“The CPM has tried to spread the notion that there is dissent within the Congress. However, it seems that they are the ones suffering losses. More people are likely to leave the CPM. We have not lost a single person. We contest elections as a united front, and we hold discussions every day to ensure the victories of Rahul Mamkoottathil and Ramya Haridas,” Satheesan concluded.
