Hate campaign unleashed by CPM in Vadakara was equivalent to terrorism: VD Satheesan

The hate campaign unleashed by the CPM in Vadakara during the Lok Sabha election was equivalent to terrorism, said VD Satheesan, leader of the opposition. While speaking to reporters in Palakkad on Wednesday, he ridiculed the CPM, saying that even the BJP, which indulges in research on hate campaign activities, stands ashamed before the CPM, as the way the CPM carried out the hate campaign in Vadakara was incomparable in its execution.
“CPM should check whether this behavior is appropriate for a party that governs the state. If the conspiracy behind this campaign were investigated, many top CPM leaders would be implicated,” Satheesan said.
“The findings in the report submitted by the police to the Kerala High Court regarding the ‘kafir’ screenshot case are very much expected. According to the report, the screenshot was shared and circulated through pro-CPM cyber groups like ‘Red Encounter,’ ‘Red Battalion,’ ‘Porali Shaji,’ and ‘Ambadimukku Sakhakkal.’ Former MLA KK Lathika also shared the screenshot on her Facebook page. With the police report, the CPM's plot to spread hatred in society has been exposed,” Satheesan said.
“They were trying to blame the Congress and the Muslim League to create a communal divide in society. The contents in the police report once again prove that they will go to any lengths to gain political advantage in an election,” he said.
“In the beginning, the CPM tried to blame Muhammad Kasim, a Youth League worker. It was Kasim’s courage to surrender his phone to the police and his willingness to face any investigation regarding the allegation that helped the police uncover the devious plot behind the campaign. The CPM should apologize to the people of Kerala for this heinous conspiracy hatched just before the election. The real culprits behind this conspiracy should be brought to justice,” Satheesan said.
