KSRTC will not join strike, buses will operate; employees are satisfied, says Minister Ganesh Kumar

Alappuzha: KSRTC employees are not expected to participate in the nationwide strike scheduled for Wednesday, said Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar. KSRTC buses will operate tomorrow. The employees are satisfied, and hence there is no need for them to go on strike, he added.

"KSRTC employees are content. They receive their salaries before the first of every month. Moreover, all their health concerns have been addressed. They have no dissatisfaction," said Ganesh Kumar.

The minister also mentioned that no union has issued a strike notice.

"KSRTC is a public transport system. I believe KSRTC employees will stay away from the strike. There is no justification for KSRTC to participate in the strike," the minister said.

Ganesh Kumar further stated that during previous strikes, the majority of employees had abstained, reflecting the changing culture of the department. "In the last strike, only six percent of employees participated. This indicates the evolving culture of KSRTC," said the Transport Minister.

The nationwide strike on Wednesday has been jointly called by ten trade unions in protest against the policies of the central government.
