KSRTC employees go on mass leave at Pathanapuram Depot after Vigilance inspection

Kollam: As many as 15 services from Pathanapuram KSRTC Depot were stalled as a result of the mass leave taken by the employees there. A total of 12 staffers from the depot that comes under the Transport Minister K B Ganesh’s constituency went on leave after an inspection conducted by the Transport Corporation’s Vigilance Department in the depot.
The inspection was held to identify those employees consuming alcohol while on duty, and three were caught by the Vigilance Department.
The 12 people took leave without giving prior notice. Top officials of the depot have not commented on the issue so far.
The passengers had to bear the brunt as services to the hilly region were suspended.
Meanwhile, the Minister’s office has informed that actions will be taken against those who took leave without valid reasons. It was also informed that action, such as suspension, will also be taken after seeking explanations from them.
