Thiruvananthapuram: In a disturbing incident on a KSRTC bus travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Vellarada, a young woman was sexually harassed by a male passenger who attempted to slip his hand inside her blouse. The woman courageously recorded the incident on video and confronted the accused, slapping him and reprimanding him for his obscene behaviour.

According to the video circulating on social media, the man first touched the woman’s legs before moving his hand inside her blouse and toward her private parts. The victim’s firm reaction included scolding him, asking, "Don’t you have a mother or sisters at home? How can you behave like this on a bus with so many people around? Don’t you feel ashamed?" The assailant remained silent and kept siting next to the woman, but was eventually forced to stop when the bus conductor intervened.

The conductor questioned the man after the victim’s loud confrontation and, upon hearing of the complaint, removed him from the bus. Despite the public nature of the harassment, none of the other passengers came forward to help or confront the perpetrator.

KSRTC officials noted that no formal complaint has been filed with the police as the victim chose not to proceed legally. According to reports, both the victim and the accused had tickets for the same destination, Kattakada. Police have also stated that no report has yet been registered.
