KSEB launches new offer: Buy 2 LED bulbs, get 1 free

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Electricity Board has announced a new offer where customers can buy two LED bulbs and get one free. BPL families, Anganwadis, and government hospitals, will receive the bulbs for free.
Clearing stock of expired bulbs
KSEB is working to sell off over two lakh LED bulbs that were purchased as part of the ‘Filament Free Kerala’ campaign. These bulbs, which come with a three-year warranty, were left unsold and are now being offered at a reduced price to avoid losses. In total, KSEB bought 1.17 crore LED bulbs at a cost of Rs 54.88 crore, of which 1.15 crore bulbs were sold.
Discounted prices to clear remaining stock
KSEB previously sold the nine-watt LED bulbs at Rs 65 each. However, prices are now even lower in the public market. Additionally, 81,000 bulbs purchased under the Ujjwala scheme, which are now past their warranty period, will be given free to Anganwadis, BPL families who don’t have to pay electricity bills, and government hospitals.
Free bulbs at KSEB offices
KSEB offices across the state will also distribute free bulbs to eligible groups.
