Two killed, 4 injured as concrete slab collapses in Pottammal

Kozhikode: In an unfortunate incident that happened on Sunday morning, a concrete slab collapsed from a construction site at Pottammal in Kozhikode district, killing two persons and injuring 4 others.

The deceased were identified as Karthik and Salim, natives of Tamil Nadu. Among the injured, three are in critical condition and are undergoing treatment at Kozhikode Medical College.

According to eyewitness, the heavy concrete slab which was brought by a crane, fell over Karthik while the workers were trying to unload it. Police and fire force reached the spot and rescued the victims. Salim and another worker were seriously injured but Salim succumbed to his injuries after a few hours.
