Kottiyoor temple vaisakhakolsavam : Rohini aradhana to be held on June 24

Kottiyoor (Kannur): On the occasion of Revathi Nakshatra, the sacred ‘Palamruth Abhishekam’ was performed at the Swayambhu Shiva idol in Akkare Kottiyoor. The rituals took place on Friday, marking the third day of vaisakhakolsavam, with the Revathi Aradhana held in the evening.

In the afternoon, devotees witnessed the grand ‘Ponnin Sheeveli’ (Golden Procession), followed by the ‘Aradhana Sadhya’ (ritual feast). The Bhandarams (sacred treasure chests), referred to as Bhandaramangal, ceremonially accompanied the sheeveli.

During the evening puja, Palamruth Abhishekam was performed with sacred ingredients, including Kalabham, prepared from items brought by the Kottayam Kovilakam. The final of the four major aradhanas, Rohini Aradhana, will be held on June 24.

Another spiritually significant ritual, ‘Alingana Pushpanjali’, where the priest embraces the Swayambhu Shiva idol for several hours in deep worship, is scheduled for the evening.
