A major train schedule revision will come into effect on the Konkan Railway route from June 15, 2026, with the timings of 38 pairs of trains being changed under the annual monsoon timetable.

According to railway authorities, departure timings of 37 trains, including services like Ernakulam–Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Express (12617) that ply through Kerala, have been revised. The revised schedule will replace the current non-monsoon timetable which came into effect on October 20, 2025.

The revision is designed to ensure safer train operations during the rainy season along one of India’s most weather-sensitive railway corridors. In general, trains departing from Kerala through the Konkan Railway route will leave earlier than their existing schedules, while trains arriving in Kerala from the Konkan region are expected to run later. While trains normally operate at speeds of 110–120 kmph on many sections, monsoon speed restrictions reduce operating speeds to between 40 kmph and 75 kmph in vulnerable areas.

Among the key changes, the Ernakulam–Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Express will now depart from Ernakulam Junction at 10.10 am instead of the current 1.25 pm. The Thiruvananthapuram–Mumbai Netravati Express from Thiruvananthapuram will remain unchanged at 9.15 am, although the train is expected to reach subsequent stations earlier than at present.

Other key train timing changes under Konkan Railway monsoon timetable 2026 are as follows:

Train Name New Departure Time Current Departure Time
Ernakulam–Pune Express (22149) 2.15 am 5.15 am
Thiruvananthapuram–Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (12431) 2.40 pm 7.15 pm
Mangaluru–Mumbai Matsyagandha Express (12620) 12.45 pm 2.20 pm
Thiruvananthapuram North–Porbandar Express (20909) 9.10 am 11.15 am

Passengers travelling on Konkan Railway trains during the monsoon season are advised to check the latest train schedule and train running status before starting their journey, as revised timings will remain in force throughout the monsoon period.
