Arrested tattoo artist Sujeesh PS remanded for 14 days

Kochi: Arrested tattoo artist Sujeesh PS has been remanded by the court over a case registered under Cheranalloor police for sexually assaulting women in his parlour.

It is learnt that in the coming days, the arrest in other cases too will happen. He is also accused in two other cases under Palarivattom police station and one each under Elamakkara and Cheranalloor police stations.

The alleged crimes came to public attention following an Instagram post of a survivor. Many others joined her in sharing their similar experience.

Following the revelation, several tattoo studios in Kochi were raided. Studios that do not have proper licenses and other documents will soon be shut down by police. Likewise, MeToo allegations against several tattoo artists in Kochi have emerged. However, police have not intervened as formal complaints are not yet registered.
