Kochi's 'She Lodge' proves to be huge success among women, records profit of Rs 24 lakhs

Kochi: The She Lodge, an all-female lodging facility operated by Kudumbashree under Kochi Municipal Corporation in the city's heart, has become quite a hit. 

Even after deducting all expenses for daily maintenance and amenities, the low-cost lodging facility has generated a profit of Rs 24 lakhs nine months after it got started. 

Situated near Ernakulam Town railway station and Metro station, the lodge offers accommodation for working women and students at a rate of Rs 100 per night. In addition, Kudumbashree offers lodgers food for only Rs 10. 

There are 95 bath-attached rooms and 25 dormitory beds and could house 160 people at a time. There are also surveillance cameras, and lodgers can request the services of the female warden. Rooms will be available on a daily and monthly basis.
