Thiruvananthapuram: The government has appointed an expert committee to review the operations of the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB). A five-member panel, chaired by retired IAS officer Sudha Pillai, has been tasked by the government to study the body and submit a report within three months. The committee will also scrutinise KIIFB's past activities.

This represents a major move by the V D Satheesan-led government regarding KIIFB. The other members of the five-member panel are Shyam Srinivasan (former MD and CEO of Federal Bank), Nilesh Vikamsey (former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India), H Shubhalakshmi Narayanan (former Director of the CAG Audit Board) and Dr Tarun Bajaj (former Revenue Secretary to the Government of India).

The committee will investigate whether KIIFB funds have been properly utilised for infrastructure development and if its operations comply with constitutional and legal standards. In addition, the panel will evaluate the ongoing relevance and future feasibility of KIIFB's operations.
