DPR of K-Rail lacks clarity, reveals project head who conducted feasibility study

New Delhi: In a shocking revelation, the team leader who conducted the preliminary feasibility study of K-Rail on Tuesday revealed that the comprehensive plan put forward by the state is a fabricated story.
Alok Kumar Verma, who conducted the study, told Mathrubhumi News that the project report did not consider floods, earthquakes, topography and water flow in the proposed area for the project. He added that the proposed railway path is adopted without looking into the alternative alignment.
Those including stations are determined on the basis of the Artificial Detailed Project Report (DPR). It is up to the Railway Board to decide whether standard gauge is adequate or broad gauge is needed. He also stated that the project document should be published.
Alok Verma has many years of experience in Indian Railways in the field of design and construction.
He claimed that a false document has been submitted to the Railway Board under the name of DPR of the project. K-Rail has copied the project report of the Bullet Train project prepared earlier by DMRC for Kerala, he alleged.
“The project mentions the number of passengers. Further, mistakes have been committed while selecting stations and most of them are in the countryside rather than cities. The report also states that 80 per cent of tracks will be aligned on places that will be taken over and filled with sand. Doing so without studying the landscape will result in scenarios like that of flooding,” he pointed out.
Alok Verma points out that behind the K-Rail project, there is a huge real estate business in the minds of those behind it.
