Woman's charred body found in Paravur: murder suspected; sister missing

Paravur: The police suspect that the incident in which a young woman was found burnt to death in her house in Paravur on Tuesday is a case of murder. It is assumed that the charred body found inside the house is that of Vismaya (25), the eldest daughter of Paravur Peruvaram native Shivanandan and Jiji. The police will confirm this only after performing a DNA tests as the body was completely burnt beyond recognition.

Meanwhile, Shivanandan's younger daughter Jithu (22), who went missing after the incident, is yet to be traced. Police have received some CCTV footage of Jithu running away from the premises after the fire engulfed their residence. According to police, Jeethu is absconding after murdering Vismaya. 

The incident took place around 3 pm on Tuesday. According to police, Vismaya (25) and Jithu (22) were only present in the house during the incident. The neighbours informed the police after noticing smoke coming from the house around 3 pm.

Firefighters and police rushed to the spot and noticed that the gate was locked. But, the front door of the house was left open and two rooms were on fire. In one of them, the burnt body of a woman was found. Meantime, the younger daughter was found missing from the house.
