Kerala University likely to sack guest lecturer over missing MBA answer scripts

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala University is likely to remove a guest faculty member, Pramod, after MBA answer scripts went missing while he was transporting them.
Pramod, from ICM College, Poojappura, was reportedly carrying the scripts on a motorbike to Palakkad when they were lost.
The university’s enquiry committee has called this negligence and submitted a report to the Vice Chancellor, who will take the final decision. Earlier, the university had asked Pramod to give an explanation before moving forward with any decision.
Further actions
Along with action against the lecturer, the university also plans to recover the cost of the re-exam from ICM College.
The results for the third and fourth semesters will be announced only after the re-exam answer sheets are checked. A re-examination was held on Monday for the ‘Project Finance’ paper of the 2022–2024 MBA Finance batch. Out of 71 students, 65 attended. The university will hold another exam on April 22 for students who could not attend.
Following the issue, Kerala University is planning major changes to its exam evaluation system. Instead of giving physical answer sheets to teachers, the university will scan and upload them for digital checking. This new system aims to prevent such problems in the future.
