Kerala trains update: Bengaluru-ERS Vande Bharat to be curtailed on Oct 27; Diwali specials announced
Kochi: Southern Railway has announced special train services to cater to the extra passenger traffic during the upcoming Diwali festival season across Kerala. In addition, a temporary regulation of Vande Bharat Express services has been notified for October 27, 2026 due to ongoing engineering works near Kochi.
Regulation of Vande Bharat Express services on October 27
In view of Line Block and Power Block mandated for the commissioning of Electronic Interlocking at Kalamasseri Station, the following Vande Bharat Express services will be partially cancelled.
Train No. 26651 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Junction Vande Bharat Express (scheduled departure 5.10 am) on October 27, 2026 will be short-terminated at Thrissur. The service between Thrissur and Ernakulam Junction stands partially cancelled.
Train No. 26652 Ernakulam Junction – KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express on October 27, 2026 will partially cancel its run between Ernakulam Junction and Thrissur. It will instead originate from Thrissur at its revised departure time of 15:20 hrs.
Diwali special train services
1. Thiruvananthapuram North – Hazrat Nizamuddin Express Special (3 services each way)
Train No. 06073 Thiruvananthapuram North → Hazrat Nizamuddin: Departs at 2 pm on November 2, 9 and 16, 2026 (Mondays), reaching Hazrat Nizamuddin at 11:50 pm on the third day.
Train No. 06074 Hazrat Nizamuddin → Thiruvananthapuram North: Departs at 5:45 am on November 5, 12 and 19, 2026 (Thursdays), arriving at Thiruvananthapuram North at 4:30 pm on the third day.
Coach Composition: 10 AC 3-Tier, 6 AC 3-Tier Economy and 2 Luggage-cum-Brake Vans.
2. Thiruvananthapuram North – Tambaram Express Special
Train No. 06164 Thiruvananthapuram North → Tambaram: Departs Thiruvananthapuram North on Tuesday at 8 pm, arriving at Tambaram at 11 am on Wednesday. Major halts in Kerala include Thiruvananthapuram Central (8.20/8.25 pm) and Neyyattinkara (8.50/8.55 pm).
Train No. 06163 Tambaram → Thiruvananthapuram North: Departs Tambaram on Wednesday at 2 pm, reaching Thiruvananthapuram North at 5 am on Thursday.
