Ease of doing business: Kerala named ‘Fast Mover’ for second consecutive year

New Delhi: Kerala has once again retained its position as the best performer in the Ease of Doing Business (Business Reforms Action Plan + Reduction of Compliance Burden) rankings.

Industries Minister P Rajeev received the award in the ‘Fast Movers’ category from Union Minister for Industry and Commerce Piyush Goyal in New Delhi on Tuesday.

In a post on X , Rajeev said:

"Proud to share that Kerala has once again been ranked in the highest category in Ease of Doing Business under the Business Reforms Action Plan and Reduction of Compliance Burden. Received the award from Hon. Union Minister Shri. @PiyushGoyal in Delhi today. Kerala completed 99.3% of reforms this year and secured top position in four key business-oriented sectors. This recognition for the second consecutive year proves our consistent progress and strong teamwork under the leadership of the Hon. Chief Minister Shri. @pinarayivijayan. Kerala is now seen globally as a destination for advanced technology investments. This achievement will attract even more opportunities."

Kerala had also topped last year’s rankings, leading in two business-centric reform categories and seven citizen-centric reform areas under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Rajeev said that while the State had implemented 91% of the recommended reforms last year, it achieved an impressive 99.92% compliance in this year’s Ease of Doing Business assessment.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also hailed the state’s achievement in his latest X post:
