Kerala schoolboy uses pepper spray on girl classmate’s parents in Idukki; nearby students also affected

Baisonvally (Idukki): A student at Baisonvally Government School in Idukki allegedly used pepper spray on the parents of a classmate on Friday morning, leaving 10 students, who were also present nearby, hospitalised.
The incident occurred near the bus stop outside the school. The student was on his way to school when the parents of a female classmate confronted him, reportedly questioning his friendship with their daughter. In response, he used pepper spray on them, which inadvertently affected other nearby students as well.
The spray came into contact with the faces of several students standing close by, all of whom are in Plus One and Plus Two (Classes 11 and 12). Following exposure, the affected students experienced symptoms such as vomiting and physical discomfort and were immediately taken to a nearby clinic. Five of them were later shifted to the Adimali Taluk Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, there are also allegations that the girl’s father physically assaulted the student during the confrontation. The Rajakkad Police has registered cases against both parties. Police officials said that CCTV footage and other evidence are being examined to determine further action.
