Kerala school sports meet wraps up; Thiruvananthapuram crowned champions

Kochi: The Kerala State School Sports Meet concluded with a grand ceremony at the Ernakulam Maharaja's College Ground here on Monday.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the event, while Education Minister V. Sivankutty presided over the closing session. Indian football legend I.M. Vijayan and actor Vinayakan attended the event as chief guests.
Thiruvananthapuram district emerged as the overall champion with 1,935 points, securing the top spot in the state-level competition. The Chief Minister presented the overall championship crown.
In second place was Thrissur, with 848 points, while Malappuram secured third position with 824 points. Thiruvananthapuram emerged as winners in both aquatics and games while Malappuram dominated athletics, finishing first with 247 points, followed by Palakkad in second and Ernakulam in third.
The concluding ceremony has several ministers, including Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman, Muhammad Riyas, Kadannappalli Ramachandran, Chinchu Rani, and GR Anil, among others.
