Kannur-Bengaluru Express to see 151-day route change, new origination and termination points

South Western Railway has announced a temporary change in the origination and termination stations for Train No. 16511/16512 KSR Bengaluru-Kannur-KSR Bengaluru Express. This change is being implemented to facilitate critical yard improvement works at Yeshvantpur station.

Temporary change in route

From 1 November 2024 to 31 March 2025, the train will originate and terminate at SMVT Bengaluru instead of KSR Bengaluru. The train will also be rerouted via Yeshvantpur. Here’s the revised schedule:

Train No. 16511: Departure from SMVT Bengaluru at 20:00 hrs, arriving at Yeshvantpur at 21:25 hrs, departing at 21:45 hrs.
Train No. 16512: Departure from Kannur at 17:05 hrs, arriving at Yeshvantpur at 06:10 hrs, departing at 06:30 hrs, and reaching SMVT Bengaluru at 07:45 hrs.

Passenger advisory

Passengers are requested to note these changes and plan their travel accordingly. The new timings will be in place for 151 days, during which yard improvement work will be carried out at Yeshvantpur station.

Previous timings superseded

This change also updates the previously notified timings at SMVT Bengaluru for Train No. 16511/16512, with the diversion via Yeshvantpur now in effect. This update supersedes the earlier Press Release No. 493, dated 1 September 2024.

Present halts

Train No. 16511 begins its journey at SMVT Bengaluru and proceeds to Yeshwantpur Junction, Kunigal, B.G. Nagar, Shravanabelagola, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, Bantawala, Mangaluru Junction, Mangaluru Central, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Nileshwar, Payyanur, before finally reaching Kannur.

Train No. 16512 starts from Kannur and follows the route to Payyanur, Nileshwar, Kanhangad, Kasaragod, Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru Junction, Bantawala, Kabakaputtur, Subrahmanya Road, Sakleshpur, Hassan, Channarayapatna, Shravanabelagola, B.G. Nagar, Kunigal, before arriving at Yeshwantpur Junction and terminating at SMVT Bengaluru.
