Many LDC vacancies reported hours before PSC rank list expired

Thrissur: Hours before the rank list expired, various departments in Kerala reported many vacancies to the Public Service Commission (PSC). With this, the government could ensure more appointments from the current LDC list compared to the previous list.
In all 11,452 people were appointed from the previous LDC list. As of 1 pm on August 4, the number of people who received the advice memo is 11,835. Memos will be sent for the 1,400 vacancies reported by midnight of August 4.
PSC chairman Adv M K Sakeer said that 29.28% of rank holders in the LDC list have been given appointment and this is the highest in the last 10 years. Memos for the newly reported vacancies will be prepared before Onam, he said.
However, only fewer appointments were made to the last grade servants posts. While 11,445 appointments were made from the previous list, only 8,071 received memos till Wednesday. A total of 981 vacancies were reported at the last moment.Besides, vacancies for 215 drivers, 225 assistant salesmen and 385 staff nurse vacancies also were reported on Wednesday. The validity of the 493 rank-holder list published in 2017-18 expired by Wednesday midnight.
