Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Police's official mobile application, POL-APP, which provides more than 30 police-related services online, has received an encouraging response from the public, reaching approximately 1.7 million downloads since its launch.

Rolled out in June 2020, the app was introduced to enable citizens to access a variety of police services online without needing to visit police stations in person, according to an official statement on Saturday.

The application offers a wide range of facilities, including contact details for all police stations and senior officers across the state, police clearance certificate (NIOC) downloads, FIR reports, loudspeaker permission applications, general diary copies regarding road traffic accidents and treasury fee payments for police services.

Furthermore, it features Janamaithri services for senior citizens, safety functions tailored for women and children, the "Track My Trip" service for unaccompanied female travellers and elderly citizens, alongside information for train passengers, blood donors, internet safety advice and a tourist guide.

Designed with a user-friendly interface, the application can be downloaded on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

In its statement, the Kerala Police encouraged the public to download and make use of the app, highlighting it as one of the country's most popular digital public service tools.
