Kerala Police to step up CM’s security, deploy plainclothes cops to prevent crowd risks

Thiruvananthapuram: Police are set to increase security and manage crowds around Chief Minister V D Satheesan during public events. Police intelligence has reported that crowding by media personnel and others poses a security threat. The ADGP of Intelligence has instructed district police chiefs to deploy additional personnel, including those in plainclothes, to prevent any untoward incidents.

A few days ago, while leaving an event in Idukki, the Chief Minister cited heavy crowding and asked media personnel to move away.

During an event in Ernakulam, police instructed journalists not to approach the Chief Minister with microphones, noting that he has Z-plus security, and questions were not permitted.

Media personnel were similarly kept at a distance in Thrissur.
