Video by Martin Antony revealing survivor’s identity; legal action against those who circulate it

Kochi: Kerala Police have initiated action against individuals who circulated a video featuring Martin Antony, second accused in the actress sexual assault case, after it emerged that the footage disclosed the identity of the survivor.
The video, which resurfaced on social media following the verdict in the case, was originally released when Martin was granted bail by the Supreme Court. Police said the footage contains claims rejected by the court and explicitly mentions the survivor’s name, in violation of legal safeguards.
Martin was later found guilty and sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment. Authorities said the video, recorded during the trial proceedings, began circulating again after the verdict, prompting renewed scrutiny.
According to police, several prominent individuals were involved in sharing the footage. Officials said a case is likely to be registered by Wednesday afternoon, and further action, including arrests, may follow.
Police reiterated that revealing the identity of a survivor in a sexual assault case is a punishable offence and urged the public to refrain from sharing such content.
