Is Kerala Police tracking Rahul Mamkootathil in Bengaluru? Reddit post sparks speculation

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: A social media post, shared on Reddit, shows the Agali Police from Palakkad district in Bengaluru, fueling speculation that the team may be tracking Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who is on the run in connection with a sexual assault case.
The post features a photo of an Agali Police vehicle in a residential area of Bengaluru. Some users have suggested the location is Madiwala, though it has not been confirmed whether the police presence is directly connected to the case.
Mamkootathil, who was expelled from Congress on Thursday, remains missing even after the Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court on Thursday rejected his anticipatory bail plea. Earlier reports suggested he had fled Kerala, and his driver was taken into custody for allegedly helping him travel to Bengaluru.
The FIR, originally lodged at Nedumangad Valiyamala Police Station, was later transferred to Nemom Police Station, as the alleged incidents reportedly occurred within its jurisdiction.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph confirmed that Mamkootathil has been expelled from the party following serious allegations and the registration of related cases.
The complaint against him was filed by a woman alleging sexual assault, rape on the pretext of marriage, and forced abortion.
The case has been registered under multiple non-bailable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, including Sections 64, 64(2), 64(f), 64(h), 64(m), 89, 316, and Section 68(e) of the Information Technology Act. Police investigations are ongoing, and Mamkootathil’s current whereabouts remain unknown.
