The direction from the police headquarters was to investigate the activities of some leaders of Kozhikode district.

This real estate businessman had allegedly tried to save a Beypore native who was involved in the controversial parallel telephone exchange case in Kozhikode. According to the report, it was the real estate dealer who gave Rs 7 lakh as booking amount to buy a new vehicle to a senior CPM-CITU leader.

The report also states that these two leaders received Rs 15 lakh to settle a labour dispute in a supermarket in the city and Rs 7 lakh to settle a parking issue at a hotel on Mavoor Road.
