Thiruvananthapuram: A 52-year-old man allegedly died after not receiving timely medical treatment at the Neyyattinkara General Hospital here on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Kumar (52), a resident of Neyyattinkara, who had reportedly arrived at the hospital complaining of severe chest pain.

According to his relatives, despite informing hospital authorities about his condition, Kumar was allegedly instructed to wait in the queue instead of being given immediate medical attention. They claim he remained in the queue for nearly 30 minutes before collapsing.

The incident sparked a heated argument between the deceased's family and hospital officials. The relatives have refused to accept the body, alleging medical negligence.

Police and hospital authorities held discussions with the family following the incident. Further investigation into the allegations is underway.
