‘I had no other go, I apologise’: Kerala MLA Anvar announces temporary halt to public statements

Malappuram: Following allegations raised against the Chief MInister’s loyallists including ADGP MR Ajith Kumar and political secretary P Sasi, ruling MLA P V Anvar announced a temporary halt to public statements in response to a release from the CPM state secretariat.
This came after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan dismissed Anvar's claims the previous day.
In a statement on Facebook, Anvar expressed his confidence in the party and indicated his decision to temporarily cease public statements effective immediately. While upholding his full trust in the party's support, he held that his voice had been raised against certain irregularities within the police. "I feel no guilt in this matter and am not going to step back," Anvar stated.
Anvar also acknowledged that the development would have disappointed some media and observers who were looking for his potential departure from the Left alliance. He stressed that the party is ‘distinct’ and that he remains committed to addressing the complaints he has filed, which he believes will receive resolution.

In his full statement, Anvar addressed the CPM state secretariat, Leftist democratic front workers and the public, acknowledging the recent developments with concern. "As a public worker, I have engaged in this matter with great distress. However, it is a necessary action taken for the welfare of ordinary party members and society at large. My voice was raised against certain irregularities within the police. I feel no guilt in this matter and am not going to step back."
He further noted that the gravity of the complaints is evident from the prompt actions taken by the government. Anvar pointed out that disagreements about the presence of the accused in their positions still persist, which he has made clear multiple times.
"This issue is serious and affects our allies and the public. I am aware that it has caused pain to my beloved party comrades. I had no other options before me. I sincerely apologise to each one of you for that."
He also mentioned that CPM state secretary M V Govindan had assured him that his detailed complaints would be reviewed. Anvar expressed confidence that timely investigations would occur regarding his complaints.
Anvar highlighted several serious issues he had raised, including a controversial police officer's visit to the RSS, instances of communalism promoted by YouTubers, and gold smuggling. He firmly believes that the party will conduct fair investigations and actions in these matters.
He reiterated that the Left represents a significant segment of society that wishes to see secularism upheld. "The CPM is a movement that leads from the front, and I have utmost faith in this party. I am confident that my complaints will be addressed properly and necessary actions will be taken against certain irregularities," he concluded.
Anvar's announcement to temporarily cease public statements comes as he affirms his complete trust in the party and its commitment to justice. "The party is above everything. The ordinary people are the foundation of this party. Comrades, let us move forward."
