Kerala Minister P Rajeev holds over 30 meetings at Davos WEF to promote investment opportunities

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev held more than 30 one-to-one meetings during the first two days of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, to highlight the state's growing investment potential across various sectors.
During the meetings, Rajeev showcased the transformative changes in Kerala’s industrial landscape, driven by supportive government policies. He also emphasised Kerala’s top position in India’s Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) rankings, signalling the state’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment.
Kerala’s debut at India Pavilion
This marks Kerala’s first participation in the India Pavilion, organised by the Government of India at the WEF. Other states involved in the pavilion include Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. The Invest Kerala Pavilion highlighted the state’s New Industrial Policy (NIP) and several initiatives that have turned Kerala into a flourishing industrial hub.
Rajeev is leading a high-level delegation, including Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan and senior officials, at the WEF. The meetings attracted strong interest from industry leaders, particularly in relation to the upcoming Invest Kerala Global Summit, which will be held in Kochi on February 21-22. "We had a productive round of meetings at the WEF. Business leaders expressed strong interest in the transformation of the state's industrial landscape, driven by the government's policies. They also showed keen interest in the upcoming Invest Kerala Global Summit," Rajeev said.
Key sectors for investment
The minister highlighted several sectors offering attractive investment opportunities in Kerala, including IT/ITES, Spacetech, Medical Devices and Healthcare, Maritime Infrastructure, and Tourism. He also pointed out Kerala's progress in the MSME sector, supporting startups and the processing of food, spices, and marine products. Rajeev reiterated that Kerala’s motto is "responsible industry," aiming to attract industries that support local communities while being environmentally conscious.
Networking, panel discussions
In addition to one-on-one meetings, the Kerala delegation participated in panel discussions and networking events, further strengthening the state’s visibility and investment prospects at the global stage.
