52-year-old sentenced to 130 years for sexually assaulting 10-year-old boy in Kerala

Chavakkad: A fast-track special court here on Thursday sentenced a 52-year-old man to 130 years in prison and fined ₹8.75 lakh for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy.

The bench of Judge Anyas Thayyil, found Sajeev, a resident of Orumanayur, guilty under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional 35 months of imprisonment.

The incident happened in April 2023 when Sajeev lured the victim and his friend to the terrace of his house and committed the assault. 

Special Public Prosecutor Siju Muttath and Advocate C. Nisha appeared for the prosecution.
